NEIGHBORHOOD: RELOADED

Our friends Drew and Susan and Mike and Autumn moved away with their families from the neighborhood.

Friday nights have been hard ever since, because that was when we did our "sit outs" each week. Everyone would bring their chairs and a favorite beverage and sit and chat in one of our driveways and decompress from the week while the kids ran around like lunatics.

Well, some customs must be maintained...

It was frisky 98 degrees out with a refreshing 95 percent humidity dangling like a stalagtite in the air (Feels like temp: Fourth Circle of Hell), but we at least had to make some sort of attempt, if only to have some adult conversation.

Then hijinx ensued. Someone started begging for the sombrero. Then someone else clamored for the mullet. Before you know it, it was a full-fledged hootenanny.

And apparently our new neighbors, Patrick and Autumn, are game for our brand of stupidity:

No more Cohibas for Patrick until he learns to manage the draw.

Autumn did her best (with help from childhood friend Courtney) to make the hat look dainty. She nearly succeeded.

Patrick kept running around whispering in a gutteral, fake Spanish accent, "I'm Antonio Banderas and I'm.... sessy''

It didn't take long for Autumn to channel her inner Night Ranger with the mullet wig on her head.

One Autumn moves away and another moves in. What are the odds of that, I wonder?...

Don't think for a moment that the coincidence is lost on any of us in the neighborhood...

Sure makes her name easy to remember!

Susan and I are glad to see that a little booze is all you needed to replace us...
